Well this is our Crufts page, Bobby qualified for his first attendance at Crufts at his premier at Bath CH back in May 2007, Saint Bernards were showing on Saturday 10th March, we were both excited yet scared at the same time.
We were also invited to be on the discover dogs stand on the Thursday aswell, so we thought it would be good to try and tire him out before we were showing on the Saturday, as he was still having his fliddy moments in the ring, we had been trying him with herbal drops to try and calm down his naughtiness in the ring, we decided to try a different type on that day, (what a silly time to try something new!!), he had a complete flid moments before he was due in the ring and whilst we were stood in the line up, thankfully while our judges back was turned completing some paperwork.
Our judge was Mrs Barbara Swaine-Williams, who was lovely and gentle with Bobby, she wanted to see each dog's natural action whilst walking around the ring first, we are sure that this helped him to calm down before trotting him out, he was sooo good, for the first time in quite a while he was really well behaved, we were absolutely amazed and totally thrilled that he won 3rd place.
There was so much noise made when we came out of the ring, you would have thought we'd won BOB, but it really seemed we'd turned a corner with Bobby behaving.
Here is Bobby's critique of the day....
"Baber & Wittin’s Karmonbel High Flyer by Lanebern, promising young dog, Not the bone or substance of 2 & a shade longer coupled. Needs to strengthen in hindquarters"
